Top 7 Best Restaurants in Gangseo-gu
Today, I will recommend some great restaurants in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. The top restaurants in Gangseo-gu are places that are frequently visited via navigation searches and have excellent reviews.
1. Yurim Dakdoritang
I visited Yurim to eat Dakbokkeumtang. The spicy flavor was quite strong, but thanks to the addictive sauce, I enjoyed the meal. The fried rice, in particular, was a stroke of genius! Mixing the leftover sauce with the rice was a real delicacy. The only downside was that the service was lacking. I hope the service improves a bit. Still, I definitely have to admit the taste of the food is excellent! Even though I visited after 2 PM, it was crowded. Parking is available for about 10 cars. Since there are no days off or break times, the customers are spread out, so the wait isn't long. I ordered the main dish, Dakdoritang. It is characterized by being spicier than other famous Dakdoritang restaurants, having plenty of green onions, and large potatoes. As someone who can't handle spicy food, I chose the regular spice level. Was the free-range chicken always this big? Unlike other places, it was incredibly tender, so the bone just slid right off. It wasn't tough at all. Since even the regular version is spicier than Shin Ramyun, you can neutralize the heat by drinking the side dishes of seasoned bean sprouts and cold seaweed soup in succession. The dessert fried rice with water parsley and seaweed is also a must-try, as it is tangy and spicy. It is a restaurant that lives up to its price tag and is worth more than its cost.

2. Airport Kalguksu
I finally visited the famous Kongkal. I had the Mushroom Tripe Jjamppong. It is spicy and flavorful, and so delicious. If you like tripe soup, I highly recommend this place. Even if you feel like your stomach is going to burst, the fried rice is a must. It was even better because they were generous with refilling the fresh kimchi. It tastes like tripe soup with kalguksu noodles added. I had a delicious meal, and all the staff were friendly. I feel like a gourmet who isn't lonely anymore. I already knew it was good, but the kalguksu was exceptionally delicious that day... Even though there was no meat, it was packed with mushrooms and water parsley, so the satiety was insane. When the chewy noodles soak up the broth, what more can I say? It's so delicious. The broth is amazing. The lady working there is super friendly and efficient, always knowing exactly when it tastes the best. My companion lost their phone, and she even worried about them like a mom... It's no secret that I ate the fried rice heartily just to eat the kalguksu before going to look for the phone. The umami-rich fried rice is also a must-try! It's been a while since I ate until I was stuffed. The restaurant is spacious, so there's no wait, and it's generally clean, which I like.

3. Sancheong Charcoal Garden Magok
A glass of soju with black pork. I've been to the Euljiro main branch a few times, but this time I headed to Magok. Here, you absolutely have to order the Traditional Salt-Grilled Pork Plate (500g, 58,000 won). It's golden brown, full of juices, tender, and chewy pork with no gamey smell—it's just so delicious. They even grill the meat for you, so all you have to do is relax and enjoy it. This place really knows what they're doing. It's tasty and great. The price is a bit steep, though... but the meat is genuinely delicious. Still, the meat is thick, so I got full after just a few pieces. I went for an early dinner, so I was able to get in and eat without waiting. Whenever I passed by Magok, I saw this place listed as a popular spot with long lines, so I finally visited. Now I understand why people wait in line to eat here. But the marinated version is even better.

4. Manbae Arirang Bossam Main Branch
I saw an introductory video on YouTube a while ago and saved the location on my map. Coincidentally, I had business nearby today, so I went there and had a meal. There were about 19 groups ahead of us, and we waited about 50 minutes. It was bearable since it coincided with my child's nap time. We ordered the medium size Half-and-Half Bossam! In the photo, I took it after giving about half of the meat to my child beforehand. The meat was incredibly tender, and if you order Bossam before 3 PM, you get a free serving of Kalguksu or Makguksu! The napa cabbage was sweet, and the kimchi was delicious. I discovered a hidden gem during my trip to Seoul. The Gabrisal Bossam was so incredibly tender, and the kimchi filling and napa cabbage were seasoned just right—perfect to eat together. You can choose between Kalguksu and Jaengban-guksu, but we went with Kalguksu. We were told we could choose whether to eat the kalguksu together or separately, so we wanted to share it and ordered right away! The complimentary kalguksu portion is also generous enough that three of us ate until we were full with leftovers. It was even better coming on a weekday lunch without any waiting! I highly recommend it!

5. Ijo Myeonok
This is a great place for Hamheung-style cold noodles. The King Galbitang (New Zealand) contains only ribs, but it is tender and delicious. The Nutritious Galbitang (mixed Australian ingredients) contains thinly sliced brisket and ribs. It is easy to eat. The Spicy Cold Noodles are also tasty. It tastes even better when eaten with the side dish of squid jeotgal with dried radish strips; the King Dumplings (6 pieces) are also worth trying. It has been a while since I visited, so I had a hearty meal. Although the prices have gone up a bit, the portion of Galbitang is generous. The ladies serving here have been working here for a long time, and aside from being a bit hectic, the cold noodles here are really delicious. It tastes exactly like the classic Hamheung style. The spicy sauce for the bibim naengmyeon is super tasty, and the broth for the mul naengmyeon is refreshing. The galbitang (beef rib soup) also has tender meat. It feels like a long-standing establishment. I liked that the senior staff providing the service gave me a sense of trust. There is definitely a reason why my boyfriend gives this place a thumbs up. No need to worry about cold noodles this summer!

6. Bomdama Magok Branch
Seoul Shabu-shabu Restaurant Bomdama Blue Ribbon High-Quality All-You-Can-Eat! Bomdama is a place where you can enjoy a healthy dining experience. Since it is individual shabu-shabu, everyone can choose their preferred broth. You can select from a variety of broths such as Mala, Sukiyaki, and anchovy broth. The vegetables are fresh and diverse, and there is a wide variety of sauces as well. I love that it is healthy food packed with vegetables, so you can eat until you are full. It is a place I have visited again and again. The prices are really so reasonable, and especially if you come at lunchtime, the value for money is so good it makes you wonder. Right now, there is a 1+1 event on Highballs, and if you visit between 5 and 6 PM, they even give you beef brisket, so it is truly a huge bargain. Do they even make a profit? The store is kept very clean, and since there are seats for solo diners, it's great for coming alone. My parents love it too, so we end up coming here really often. I highly recommend it. The food is neat, and best of all, I like that I can eat a lot of vegetables. The food is so delicious. I definitely need to come often. There are various sauces so you can enjoy different flavors, and you can even make your own porridge. It's great value for the price. I'll be coming often.

7. Banghwa-dong Gyodong Jjamppong
This is a restaurant featured on Sung Si-kyung's "I'll Eat It." We ordered Jjamppong, Spicy Jjamppong, and Sweet and Sour Pork (small). The Spicy Jjamppong is quite delicious. In my opinion, it's the best. The rich flavor of the broth and the spiciness go together exceptionally well. The spiciness is about the same as Buldak (Spicy Chicken Ramen). The regular Jjamppong is basically a version of the Spicy Jjamppong without the spiciness. It falls slightly short compared to the Spicy Jjamppong, but it is still excellent. The Sweet and Sour Pork has a Guobaorou feel to it, and the meat was quite thick, making it tasty. The Jjamppong is seriously insane. I visited out of curiosity after watching Choi Hwa-jung's YouTube video, and I think it is worth the trip. The two of us ordered green onion rice, jajangmyeon, jjamppong, and sweet and sour pork, and ended up scraping the plates clean without leaving a single bite. The staff were friendly too. It's a restaurant worth the wait!
