Top 7 Best Restaurants in Hamyang
Today, I would like to recommend some great eateries in Hamyang, Gyeongsangnam-do. The top restaurants in Hamyang are places with excellent ratings and reviews, selected from those frequently visited by people searching on navigation apps.
1. Cafe Odojae
I came here because I heard that you absolutely must visit Odojae when you visit Hamyang. Perhaps because it is located in the mountains, the scenery was really beautiful. They also had special menu items and merchandise unique to Odojae. I have often felt that at famous cafes, only the interior was pretty while the drinks tasted poor or the service was unfriendly, but I liked Odojae even more because the drinks were delicious and the staff were kind. Next time, I want to come in the winter to see the snowy scenery. The view is simply everything here. But the coffee, tea, and desserts are all delicious too. It's superb. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy, perfect for sitting and chatting. The mountain view through the large floor-to-ceiling windows is absolutely, unbelievably beautiful. The drinks are a bit on the expensive side, but the view is so amazing that it doesn't matter at all. It's a beautiful view, no matter when you visit—spring, summer, autumn, or winter.

2. The School Bell Rings
The refreshing broth of the Neungi Duck Baeksook is delicious, but the porridge portion was a bit smaller than expected. The owners are friendly, and I recommend this place for group gatherings. I went with my family to enjoy a delicious and healthy meal to celebrate the holiday. I feel like I am treated well and enjoyed the food just as much every time I visit, so I am grateful to the husband and wife owners. Since it was a long journey, I was sad to leave, so I ordered extra and even got some to go on the way back. I will enjoy eating it at home this weekend.

3. Gabul Restaurant
This is one of the top restaurants for mushroom bulgogi hot pot that I have ever eaten at. It isn't spicy, but it is flavorful, refreshing, and savory. I love mushrooms, and this place has a generous amount of them, making it incredibly delicious. I traveled all the way to the distant town of Hamyang again just to eat this. It makes me want to come back. It's absolutely delicious. The mushroom hot pot was really good. The fried rice was disappointing because they only provided the ingredients and it was self-serve. It just tasted like gochujang, and they gave us way too much oil. The hot pot and rice were the best. I ordered the beef and mushroom hot pot during my trip to Hamyang. I was surprised by how incredibly high the mushrooms were piled on top, and the clean, addictive taste kept my chopsticks moving non-stop. Since it's not a dish I eat often, I'm glad I tried it while traveling to a quiet place.

4. Daeseong Restaurant
An acquaintance told me I absolutely had to visit this place if I came to Hamyang, so I went. It is on the expensive side for gukbap, but the meat inside is incredibly tender. The side dishes are also tasty, and it is definitely worth trying at least once. It is a flavor you must experience at least once. It seemed a bit pricey, but the beef melts in your mouth. I was satisfied with everything except the restroom. The green onion kimchi is amazing. The meat in the Hanwoo gukbap is tender and delicious. The meat is the best. The earthenware pot is small, but the bowl of rice is huge. I was wondering what was going on, but after eating it, I felt like my stomach was going to burst. The meat in the gukbap was quite tender and plentiful. The pickled chili peppers and green onion kimchi served as side dishes were so delicious that I even got a refill.

5. Jo San-jip
I visited Josaenjip while traveling in Hamyang. I was curious why it was called Josaenjip, but to put it simply, I heard they named it after their surname while registering the business in a hurry. I had the fish soup noodles, and it felt a bit different from the fish soup noodles I usually eat. While they are typically thick, the broth at Josaenjip was clear. It was a place frequented by many locals. Parking is available in front of the store as well. I ate fish soup noodles and fish soup rice. Mr. Heo Young-man visited here. As someone who avoids even loach soup because they worry it might be fishy, I tried the fish soup noodles, and I liked that it wasn't as fishy as I expected.

6. Sikdang Unhakjeong
It is a truly delicious meal where the natural flavors of the wild greens come alive. The restaurant is clean, and the food is impeccably neat. I stopped by after visiting Silsangsa Temple based on a search, and I am 200% satisfied. It was a very clean and fresh country-style meal. The wild greens are tasty, and the grilled yellow croaker is also incredibly delicious. It feels just like a country grandmother cooking for you. In particular, the kimchi pancake was so delicious that it made me crave makgeolli from the morning. The soup was tasty, but personally, I wish they had doenjang jjigae as well.

7. Daldongne Restaurant
I visited by chance after hiking, and it turned out to be a local hidden gem. I ordered the large size Braised Cod Cheeks and had a hearty meal. Except for the initial serving of rice, rice is unlimited. True to my love for food, I ate four bowls. That's how much the Braised Cod Cheeks were a rice thief. We ordered the small size for two, and it was generous enough that we could have had another bowl of rice. Everything—from the side dishes to the soup—was delicious, and you could really feel the care put into it. It didn't feel like a commercial gimmick, so I felt it was great value for money. After the meal, they served us Omija Sikhye; it was my first time trying it, but it wasn't too sweet and tasted amazing, which was surprising. It seems like a local favorite. I hope the quality of the food doesn't drop just because there are more out-of-town customers. This is the Hamyang Daldongne Restaurant that CEO Baek Jong-won visited. The owner is so kind, and the braised cod cheeks are a real rice thief. Next time, I'll try the spicy pork stir-fry and braised cutlassfish.
